How we test and review
Every product we cover goes through the same practical sequence. We buy it, use it in a normal household setting, and only then write about it. This keeps our ratings consistent and our advice grounded in what actually happens after the packaging comes off.
We pick products that are widely available in Indian retail, not obscure imports. Each item is bought at the regular price from a standard store or marketplace, so we review the same unit you would receive.
The product goes into a real kitchen or bathroom for two to six weeks. We log daily use, cleaning habits, and any quirks that show up only after repeated handling. This is where most durability issues surface.
Each item is rated on the same five points: build quality, ease of use, value for money, maintenance effort, and how well it matches its stated purpose. No bonus points for brand names or packaging.
We place the product next to two or three direct competitors in the same price band. The comparison focuses on measurable differences, not marketing claims, so you can see where your money actually goes.
The written review is checked against our usage notes and photos. If a claim cannot be traced back to a specific test day, it is removed. We also flag any product that behaved differently across two separate units.
Once published, we revisit the review after three months to see if the product held up. Updates are added directly to the original page, so returning readers get the full picture, not just the first impression.
If you have used a product we covered and your experience differs, we want to hear about it. Reader feedback often catches issues that only appear after a year of ownership. Share your notes through our contact page or read a sample of our first-month review to see how we structure findings.
Our editorial team answers reader questions about testing methods, product selection, and past reviews. Write to us at info@mersya.com or call +91 64 74226209 between 10:00 and 18:00 IST on weekdays. We usually respond within one working day, and most queries about specific products get a reply within four hours. If your question is about a product we have not covered yet, mention the brand and model so we can check whether it is on our testing list.
How we approach every review
Every product we cover goes through the same routine: real use at home, notes taken over weeks, and a verdict written only after the results are clear. Here is what that means for you.
We do not review from the box. Each item is used the way you would use it, whether that means daily dal in a steel pan or a moisturizer applied every morning for a month. If a product fails in week two, you will read about it.
A budget rice cooker and a premium one sit side by side in our kitchen. We measure texture, stickiness, and consistency so you can see whether the extra cost changes the outcome or just the label.
Scratches, discoloration, loose handles, fading labels. We document what wears down after weeks of use, not just what looks good on day one. Maintenance tips are included for every item we keep.
Our ratings compare a product against others in the same category, not against an ideal that does not exist. You get a clear sense of whether the price is fair for what actually arrives at your door.
We do not sell products and we do not take payment for positive coverage. If a product is not worth your money, we say so plainly and suggest a better alternative when one exists.
